Home Sleep Test for Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a condition in which there are brief periods during sleep in which your airway relaxes and you do not get enough air to your lungs. It is a serious, potentially life-threatening condition and is far more common than generally understood. VirtuOx allows our patients the ability to monitor their sleep from the comfort of their own homes as many people find it difficult to sleep in new places, let alone covered in electrodes with someone watching from the next room. Your routine before bed is not interrupted so we are capturing a typical night. With just a sensor on your finger, nose and a small device on a belt around your chest, VirtuOx can tell if you have sleep apnea.

Genetic Testing

If you’ve been diagnosed with depression and failed at least one medication, you may benefit from GeneSight® Psychotropic, a pharmacogenomic test that analyzes how your DNA may affect your response to depression medications. The results of the test can help your doctor prescribe a more genetically optimal medication and avoid medications that may cause side effects or be less likely to work.

Weight Management

We at Joie de Vivre strongly believe that managing a healthy weight is an essential component of leading a healthier life. We are currently offering compounded semagulitide as an injection to aid in weight loss/weight management where appropriate. We also can discuss other alternatives to help with weight loss. Patients must eat a healthy diet and exercise to promote weight loss, and these lifestyle changes are also encouraged.

Hormone Replacement Therapies

Both men and women are subject to changes of essential hormones as they age. The effect is that, due to a decline in estrogen in women and testosterone in men, quality of life may be significantly lowered due to increased fatigue, decreased concentration, and lowered bone density.
Using symptomatic evaluation, a physical exam, and lab work a diagnosis and solution can be reached. If hormone replacement therapy is indicated, know that you have options from compounded creams to regular testosterone injections to bio-identical pellet insertions which have quickly become many patients’ most preferred method of hormone replacement.

At Joie de Vivre we have options which may relieve pain you experience in your joints.
